Aisha Bushby is a British author known for her contributions to children’s literature. She made her debut with the novel A Pocketful of Stars, published by Egmont in 2019. The book was well-received and shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize in 2020. Her writing often explores themes of family, friendship, and identity, often incorporating elements of magical realism.
Following her debut, Bushby published Moonchild: Voyage of the Lost and Found in 2020, the first in a series set in a fantastical world inspired by Arabian Nights. The sequel, Moonchild: City of the Sun, was released in 2021, continuing the adventures of the protagonist, Amira.
In addition to her novels, Bushby has contributed to anthologies, including A Change is Gonna Come, a collection of short stories by BAME authors. Her work is published by Hachette Children’s Group, and she is represented by the literary agency, The Bent Agency.
