Abdi Nazemian is an Iranian-American author known for his contributions to young adult literature. He has written several acclaimed novels, including The Authentics, published by Balzer + Bray in 2017. This novel explores themes of identity and belonging, drawing on Nazemian’s own experiences.
In 2019, Nazemian released Like a Love Story, also published by Balzer + Bray. The book is set in 1989 New York City and delves into the lives of three teenagers during the height of the AIDS crisis. Like a Love Story received critical acclaim and was selected as a Stonewall Honor Book in 2020, recognising its contribution to LGBTQ+ literature.
Beyond his work in literature, Nazemian has an established career in film and television. He has contributed as a screenwriter and producer to various projects, including the films The Quiet and Call Me By Your Name. His diverse body of work spans multiple genres and formats, showcasing his versatility as a storyteller.
Abdi Nazemian’s writing often reflects his Iranian heritage and his experiences as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. His work has been praised for its authenticity and emotional depth, resonating with readers across different backgrounds.
Abdi Nazemian’s latest novel, The Chandler Legacies, was published in 2022, further cementing his place in contemporary young adult literature.
