A.R. Vishny writes young adult fantasy and paranormal fiction. She earned a BA in English at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a JD at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a Law and Literature fellow. Her essays on Jewish representation in pop culture have appeared in Teen Vogue, the Washington Post and Hey Alma.
Her debut novel, Night Owls, was published on 17 September 2024 by HarperCollins, with a HarperTeen edition released the same day. The book is a standalone paranormal YA romance rooted in Jewish folklore and centres on two estries in New York’s monstrous underworld. In January 2025, Night Owls won the Sydney Taylor Book Award in the Young Adult category.
