Yusuke Murata is a Japanese manga artist born in 1978 in Miyagi Prefecture. He made his professional debut in 1995 with a one-shot called Partner published in a special edition of Weekly Shōnen Jump, for which he received the Hop Step Award.
Murata’s early work includes Samui Hanashi (1998), which won the Akatsuka Award, and Kaitō Colt (2002).
From 2002 to 2009 he illustrated Eyeshield 21, written by Riichiro Inagaki, which was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump and later adapted into an anime series.
Since 2012 Murata has illustrated the manga One-Punch Man, based on the webcomic by ONE, in its remade version published by Shueisha.
At age twelve he entered design contests for Mega Man game villains; his designs were adapted for “Dust Man” in Mega Man 4 and “Crystal Man” in Mega Man 5.
