Venessa Taylor biography

Venessa Taylor is a UK children’s author and educator with over twenty years of classroom experience as a primary school teacher and assistant headteacher. She specialises in writing stories for 7- to 11-year-olds.

She is the creator of the Baller Boys series, which follows aspiring young athletes aiming to join a local football team. The books are aimed at Key Stage 2 readers.

Taylor won The People’s Book Prize for Children’s Literature in 2021. Her works have been recognised in school literacy and reading programmes.

Her authorial activities include school and library visits, in which she delivers readings, Q&A sessions, role-play activities, and writing workshops.
