Ursula Dubosarsky is an Australian author known for her work in children’s and young adult literature. She has written numerous novels, picture books, and works of non-fiction for young readers. Dubosarsky studied at the University of Sydney and later completed a Master of Arts in Children’s Literature at Macquarie University.
Her writing often explores themes of childhood, language, and the complexities of growing up. Dubosarsky’s books include The Red Shoe, The Golden Day, and The Word Spy. She has collaborated with illustrators such as Andrew Joyner and Tohby Riddle on several projects, including the Word Spy series and the Terrible Plop.
Dubosarsky’s work has received recognition in Australia and internationally. She has been awarded the New South Wales Premier’s Literary Award and the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award. In 2020, Ursula Dubosarsky was appointed the Australian Children’s Laureate.
