Tess Thomas is a children’s author and editor. Her debut picture book, Shibu’s Tail, is illustrated by Kamwei Fong and explores how a cat’s expressive tail helps him communicate big feelings.
Shibu’s Tail is published in the United States by Levine Querido and in the United Kingdom by Allen & Unwin Children’s. Editions list 48 pages and credit Kamwei Fong as illustrator.
Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Johns Hopkins University and a master’s degree in modern British and European history from the University of Oxford.
Shibu’s Tail was released in the United States on 2 September 2025 and in the United Kingdom on 2 October 2025.
