Sue Lynn Tan is a British-Malaysian author known for her work in young adult fantasy fiction. She studied at the University of Warwick and the London School of Economics. Her writing draws inspiration from Chinese mythology and folklore, particularly the legend of Chang’e, the Chinese moon goddess.
Tan’s debut novel, Daughter of the Moon Goddess, was published by HarperVoyager in 2022. The book is the first in The Celestial Kingdom Duology and follows the story of Xingyin, the daughter of the moon goddess, as she embarks on a quest across a mythical realm. The novel explores themes of love, sacrifice, and destiny, and is rooted in the mythology that inspired it.
The sequel, Heart of the Sun Warrior, was published by HarperVoyager in 2022, completing the duology. Both books have been noted for their detailed world-building and incorporation of mythological elements.
