Stephenie Meyer is an American author best known for the Twilight series, a collection of vampire-themed fantasy novels for young adults. The first book, Twilight, was published by Little, Brown and Company in 2005. The series continued with New Moon (2006), Eclipse (2007), and Breaking Dawn (2008). The Twilight series has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and has been translated into multiple languages.
Meyer’s debut novel, Twilight, was named a New York Times Editor’s Choice and appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list for 91 weeks. The series was adapted into a successful film franchise by Summit Entertainment, beginning with the release of Twilight in 2008.
In 2008, Meyer published The Host, her first novel for adults, which also became a New York Times Best Seller and was adapted into a feature film in 2013. She released The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner in 2010, a novella related to the Twilight universe. In 2015, Meyer published Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined to mark the tenth anniversary of the original novel.
Meyer’s works have received several awards, including the British Book Award for Children’s Book of the Year in 2008 for Breaking Dawn. In 2020, she published Midnight Sun, a retelling of Twilight from the perspective of Edward Cullen.
Her books have appeared on numerous bestseller lists and have been recognised for their impact on young adult literature.
