Sophie Flack biography

Sophie Flack is an author, freelance writer and editor, and a former dancer with the New York City Ballet. She moved to New York City as a teenager to train at the School of American Ballet, and later joined the New York City Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet. She retired from the company in 2009.

Flack’s debut novel, Bunheads, was published by Poppy in October 2011. She has also written journalism and essays for publications including Dance Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe.

She completed a BA at Columbia University in 2013.
