S. A. Gales is a UK-based author of young adult science fiction and fantasy. Her writing focuses on high-concept speculative settings for teen readers, and she presents at schools and festivals about reading and creative writing.
Gales’s debut novel, iNSiDE, was published in the UK by Faber on 14 August 2025. The book follows Naya, a trainee from a strictly indoor city, whose mission forces her to confront the truth about the Outside world and those she has been taught to fear. iNSiDE is positioned for readers of contemporary YA dystopian and science-fiction stories.
Ahead of publication, Gales introduced the novel and her approach to YA SFF through author interviews and appearances within the UKYA community. She maintains an official website and public profiles sharing updates on writing, events and author visits.
