Ruthine Burton biography

Ruthine Burton is a British children’s book illustrator represented by Alice Williams Literary.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts with honours in Visual Art from University College of Wales, Aberystwyth.

Before specialising in children’s illustration, Burton worked as a pavement portrait artist and later in the games industry, producing creature and environment artwork.

In 2021 she completed the inaugural Pathways into Children’s Publishing programme.

Burton’s parents emigrated to the UK from Dominica and French Guiana.

Alongside her creative work, she holds an MSc in Software Engineering and works in managing and administering e-learning systems.

One of her published picture books is Roots of Love: Families Change, Love Remains.
