Robin Jacobs biography

Robin Jacobs is a British children’s author and television producer. She has written both fiction and non-fiction titles for young readers, often drawing on her background in factual programming and science communication.

Jacobs has worked in television as a producer of documentaries and educational series, including projects for Channel 4 and the BBC. This professional experience informs the accessible style and subject matter of her children’s books.

Her publications include The Time Travel Diaries: Adventure Calling, as well as non-fiction titles such as The Motion of the Ocean (2020) and Don’t Hug the Pug! (2018). In 2021 she published Earth-Shattering Events: Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Cyclones, Tsunamis and Other Natural Disasters, illustrated by Sophie Williams, with Cicada Books.

Jacobs’ work has been published by Cicada, Pavilion, and other independent presses, and her titles have been translated into several languages. Earth-Shattering Events was longlisted for the School Library Association Information Book Award in 2022.
