Robert Minhinnick is a Welsh poet, essayist, and novelist. He is known for his contributions to contemporary Welsh literature in English. Minhinnick has published several poetry collections, including A Thread in the Maze (1978), Life Sentences (1983), The Looters (1989), Hey Fatman (1994), After the Hurricane (2002), King Driftwood (2008), and Diary of the Last Man (2017). His poetry often explores themes of environment, identity, and the Welsh landscape.
In addition to poetry, Minhinnick has written essays and prose works. His essay collections include Watching the Fire Eater (1992), Badlands (1996), and To Babel and Back (2005). He has also published novels, such as Sea Holly (2007) and Limestone Man (2015).
Minhinnick has been involved in environmental work and was a co-founder of the charity Sustainable Wales. He has also served as editor of the literary magazine Poetry Wales.
His collection Diary of the Last Man was shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize in 2017.
