Riichiro Inagaki is a Japanese manga writer known for his work in the field of children’s and young adult comics. He is best recognised as the writer of the manga series Eyeshield 21, which was illustrated by Yusuke Murata. Eyeshield 21 was serialised in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2002 to 2009 and has been published in English by VIZ Media.
Inagaki later collaborated with artist Boichi to create the manga series Dr. Stone. This series began serialisation in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 2017. Dr. Stone follows the story of a world where humanity has been petrified and explores themes of science and survival. The series has also been published in English by VIZ Media.
Inagaki’s work has contributed to the popularity of sports and science fiction genres within manga for young readers. Dr. Stone was nominated for the 64th Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2018.
