Qian Shi is an author and illustrator who works in children’s publishing. She grew up in Shijiazhuang City, China, and later moved to the United Kingdom. Qian Shi studied at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts before continuing her education at the University of the Arts London.
Her debut picture book, The Weaver, was published by Andersen Press in 2018. The story follows a little spider named Stanley who collects things from the world around him. Qian Shi both wrote and illustrated the book, drawing on her background in animation and visual storytelling.
In addition to her work in children’s books, Qian Shi has experience in animation and design. She has contributed to a range of creative projects, including short films and commercial work, and her illustrations have been recognised for their distinctive style.
The Weaver was published by Andersen Press in 2018.
