Philip Noyce is a classical music editor and broadcaster, and a children’s non-fiction author. He worked at the UK radio station Classic FM, serving as Managing Editor from March 2020, after a longer period working with the station.
Noyce co-wrote a series of illustrated, sound-button classical music guides for young readers with Classic FM presenter Tim Lihoreau. These include The Very Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra (Dorling Kindersley, 2022), The Very Young Person’s Guide to Ballet Music (Dorling Kindersley, 2023) and The Very Young Person’s Guide to Christmas Carols (Dorling Kindersley, 2024).
His work in the sector has included judging roles for the Royal Philharmonic Society Awards and the Royal Television Society Awards. He is also a cellist.
On 27 May 2025, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation announced that Philip Noyce would join the organisation as Head of ABC Classic and ABC Jazz.
