Philip Kavvadias is a children’s author, playwright, poet, illustrator and screenwriter. His debut middle-grade adventure, Mission: Microraptor, was published by Chicken House in 2023 as the first in a planned series.
He has combined his writing career with a professional background in sustainability, working on projects to decarbonise global supply chains. He also volunteers as a Scout Cubs leader, drawing on outdoor experiences to inspire his stories for young readers.
Kavvadias developed the manuscript that became his first novel while taking part in the WriteMentor mentoring programme in 2020, which led to representation and publication. He continues to write for children, focusing on adventure and humour for middle-grade audiences.
