Paul Stewart is a British author best known for his work in children’s and young adult fiction. He is widely recognised for his collaboration with illustrator Chris Riddell, with whom he created the The Edge Chronicles series. The first book in this series, Beyond the Deepwoods, was published in 1998 by Doubleday. The series has since expanded to include multiple trilogies and standalone titles, all set within the same fantasy world.
Stewart and Riddell have also worked together on other series, including Far-Flung Adventures, which began with Fergus Crane in 2004. Fergus Crane won the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize Gold Award in 2004. Their joint works also include the Barnaby Grimes series and the Rabbit and Hedgehog picture books.
In addition to his collaborations, Stewart has written solo works such as The Wakening and The Weather Witch. His books have been published by major publishers including Doubleday and Macmillan Children’s Books. Stewart’s writing has been translated into several languages and is available internationally.
