Ova Ceren is a Turkish-born author of young adult fantasy. She is the creator of the @excusemyreading channels on BookTok and Instagram, where she shares reading content and book-focused features. Born in Izmir, she writes fiction that draws on Turkish and Ottoman folklore and centres on heartbreak, fate and magic.
Ceren studied Computer Science and completed a master’s degree before working in information technology. She later turned to fiction, developing a romantasy set between the contemporary world and celestial realms.
Her debut novel, The Book of Heartbreak, was published by Hot Key Books in the UK on 26 August 2025 (ISBN 9781471417856) and by Alcove Press in the United States on 26 August 2025 (ISBN 9798892422765).
