Nat Luurtsema biography

Nat Luurtsema is a British author, screenwriter, and comedian. She studied at the University of Warwick, where she earned a degree in English Literature. Luurtsema began her career in comedy, performing stand-up and working as part of the sketch group Jigsaw. She has written for radio and television, including contributions to BBC Radio 4 and CBBC.

Luurtsema is the author of several books for children and young adults. Her debut YA novel, Girl Out of Water, was published by Walker Books in 2015. The story follows a teenage girl navigating the challenges of competitive swimming and friendship. The book was also published in the United States under the title Goldfish. She has also written Lou Out of Luck, a follow-up to her debut, and contributed to anthologies for young readers.

In addition to her work in children’s literature, Luurtsema has written for adults. Her memoir, Cuckoo in the Nest, was published in 2011 by HarperCollins. She has also co-written screenplays and worked on adaptations of her own work for film and television.

Nat Luurtsema’s novel Girl Out of Water was published by Walker Books in 2015.
