Nagabe biography

Nagabe is a Japanese manga artist known for creating works that blend fantasy elements with distinctive illustrative styles. Nagabe graduated from the Musashino Art University in Tokyo, where they studied visual design. Their professional debut came with the manga Nivawa to Saitō, which was first published in 2013.

Nagabe is best known for the manga series The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún. This series began serialisation in 2015 in the magazine Monthly Comic Garden, published by Mag Garden. The story explores the relationship between a young girl and a mysterious, beast-like outsider in a world divided by a curse. The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún has been published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.

In addition to The Girl from the Other Side, Nagabe has created other manga works, including Wizdoms no Kemonotachi and The Wize Wize Beasts of the Wizarding Wizdoms, the latter of which was also published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.

Nagabe’s work is recognised for its atmospheric storytelling and unique character designs. In 2021, The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún received the Excellence Award in the Manga Division at the 24th Japan Media Arts Festival.
