Mwenye Hadithi is the pen name of Bruce Hobson, a writer known for his contributions to children’s literature. He is recognised for his collaboration with illustrator Adrienne Kennaway, with whom he has created a series of picture books that retell traditional African animal tales. The stories are noted for their use of animal characters and their roots in African folklore.
Among his published works are Greedy Zebra (1984), Crafty Chameleon (1987), Hot Hippo (1986), and Tricky Tortoise (1988), all illustrated by Adrienne Kennaway and published by Hodder Children’s Books. These books introduce young readers to African landscapes and wildlife, often explaining how animals acquired their distinctive features through engaging narratives.
