Mei Zihan biography

Mei Zihan is a Chinese children’s literature author and an academic at Shanghai Normal University, where he has held senior teaching and research roles, including supervising doctoral students in children’s literature.

His published work includes fiction and picture books for young readers. Titles regularly listed among his best-known books include Daughter’s Story, Dai Xiaoqiao and His Buddies, and the Stories of Lilaer picture book series.

Alongside his writing, Mei has been associated with children’s reading promotion in China and has been listed as a member of the China Writers Association.

In 2012, Shanghai Normal University reported that the Bing Xin Prize for Children’s Literature was awarded to Mei Zihan’s Childhood Books: Children’s Literature in Picture-Story Books.
