Malinda Lo is an American author of young adult fiction, writing across fantasy, science fiction, mystery and historical fiction. She studied at Wellesley College and later completed master’s degrees at Harvard University and Stanford University.
Her first novel, Ash, was published in 2009, followed by Huntress (2011). She later published the science-fiction thriller Adaptation (2012) and its sequel Inheritance (2013). Her later novels include A Line in the Dark (2017), Last Night at the Telegraph Club (published 19 January 2021 by Dutton Books for Young Readers), and A Scatter of Light (2022).
Last Night at the Telegraph Club won the National Book Award for Young People’s Literature in 2021. In 2022, the same novel received the Stonewall Book Award for Young Adult Literature, the Asian/Pacific American Award for Youth Literature, and a Michael L. Printz Honor.
