Luan Goldie is a British author known for her contemporary fiction exploring themes of community, resilience, and social change. She grew up in East London and has worked as a primary school teacher. Goldie’s writing often draws on her experiences in London, reflecting the diversity and challenges of urban life.
Her debut novel, Nightingale Point, was published by HarperCollins imprint HQ in 2019. The novel was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2020. Nightingale Point centres on the lives of residents in a London tower block before and after a devastating event, examining the impact on individuals and the wider community.
Goldie’s second novel, Homecoming, was published by HQ in 2020. This book follows the story of a mother and son navigating family secrets and the complexities of returning to their roots. Her third novel, These Streets, was published by HQ in 2022 and continues her focus on contemporary urban life, following a woman’s struggle to keep her family together amid changing circumstances.
In addition to her novels, Luan Goldie has written short stories, one of which won the Costa Short Story Award in 2017. Her work has appeared in various anthologies and literary magazines.
