Louise O’Brien is a children’s non-fiction author and registered architect. Her professional background includes practice in multiple international cities and work across residential, commercial, and interior architecture. She is the founder of the design studio Apsara Collective, lectures at tertiary level, and runs the educational initiative Architecture for Kids, which introduces young learners to architectural ideas through structured activities and workshops.

Her book 100 Things to Know About Architecture presents key architectural terms, materials, and structures in concise entries for younger readers. The title features illustrations by Dàlia Adillon and is part of the “In a Nutshell” series that distils subject overviews into accessible 100-word articles.
100 Things to Know About Architecture was published by Happy Yak, an imprint of Quarto, in 2023.
