Lotta Nieminen biography

Lotta Nieminen is a Finnish illustrator, graphic designer, and art director. She studied at the University of Art and Design Helsinki and the Rhode Island School of Design. Nieminen has worked internationally, including for clients such as Google, Hermès, and New York Times, as noted on her official website and publisher pages.

Nieminen is the author and illustrator of several interactive children’s board books, including the Cook in a Book series published by Phaidon. Titles in this series include Pancakes! (2017), Tacos! (2018), Pizza! (2017), and Cookies! (2019). These books are designed to introduce young children to cooking concepts through hands-on elements and vibrant illustrations.

Her work has been recognised with awards such as the Art Directors Club Young Guns award. Nieminen’s illustrations and design projects have been featured in exhibitions and publications internationally. In 2012, she established her own studio in New York, focusing on illustration, branding, and art direction.

In 2019, Nieminen’s book Cookies! was published by Phaidon as part of her interactive board book series.
