Leonie Lord is a British author and illustrator known for her work in children’s picture books. She studied illustration at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. After graduating, she began her career as a freelance illustrator, contributing to newspapers and magazines before moving into children’s publishing.
Leonie Lord has illustrated numerous picture books, collaborating with various authors. She is the illustrator of the Whiffy Wilson series, written by Caryl Hart, which includes titles such as Whiffy Wilson: The Wolf Who Wouldn’t Wash. In addition to her illustration work, Leonie Lord has also written and illustrated her own books. Her debut as both author and illustrator was Snip Snap!, published by Orchard Books.
Her other works as both author and illustrator include Superhero Hotel and Whose Bottom?. Leonie Lord’s illustrations are recognised for their distinctive style and have appeared in a range of children’s titles published by imprints such as Orchard Books and Macmillan Children’s Books.
In 2021, Leonie Lord’s book Albert Talbot: Master of Disguise was published by Walker Books.
