Konami Kanata is a Japanese manga artist known for her work in children’s and young adult literature. She began her professional career in manga in 1982. Kanata is best recognised for creating the series Chi’s Sweet Home, which was first published in 2004. The series follows the adventures of a kitten named Chi and has been serialised in the manga magazine Weekly Morning, published by Kodansha.
In addition to Chi’s Sweet Home, Kanata has also created other works, including FukuFuku: Kitten Tales. Her manga often centres on the everyday lives and experiences of animals, particularly cats, and is noted for its accessible storytelling and appeal to younger readers.
Kanata’s work has been published by Kodansha, a major Japanese publishing company. Chi’s Sweet Home was first released in English by Vertical, Inc. The first volume of Chi’s Sweet Home was published in English in 2010.
