Katie Saunders is a children’s illustrator and author whose work spans board books, picture books and early learning titles. She studied Illustration at the University of Central Lancashire, graduating in 2001, and works across hand-drawn pen, collage and computer-aided techniques to create character-led, accessible artwork for young readers.
Saunders has written and designed baby and toddler books and has illustrated numerous retellings and first-concept series for a range of publishers. Selected credits include the touch-and-feel title Little Frog, the picture book Olive Marshmallow, and early-years nonfiction such as Let’s Learn in the Sea.
Her commissions include books for imprints such as Little Tiger and Nosy Crow, and she has also produced designs for greetings cards and toys alongside her publishing work. Little Frog was shortlisted for the Sheffield Children’s Book Award in the Baby Book category in 2012.
