Kamome Shirahama is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator known for her work in both the manga and comic book industries. She is the creator of the manga series Witch Hat Atelier, which began serialization in 2016 in the magazine Monthly Morning Two, published by Kodansha. The series has received recognition for its detailed artwork and imaginative storytelling.
In addition to her manga work, Shirahama has contributed cover art and illustrations for various Western comic publishers, including Marvel and DC Comics. Her portfolio includes cover illustrations for titles such as Star Wars: Doctor Aphra and Batgirl and the Birds of Prey.
Shirahama studied design at university and has cited influences from both Japanese and Western art traditions. Her distinctive style blends intricate linework with a strong sense of fantasy and visual storytelling.
In 2020, Witch Hat Atelier was awarded the Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia.
