Kamala Harris biography

Kamala D. Harris is an American author and public figure who served as vice president of the United States of America from 2021 to 2025. She began her legal career in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office and was later elected district attorney of San Francisco. She also served as California’s attorney general and as a United States senator before becoming vice president.

Her adult memoir, The Truths We Hold, was published by Penguin Books in paperback on 4 August 2020, with 336 pages. The book presents Harris’s account of public service, justice and the political issues she worked on during her career.

Harris also wrote Superheroes Are Everywhere, a picture book illustrated by Mechal Renee Roe. The hardback edition was published by Philomel Books on 8 January 2019, with 40 pages, and introduces children to everyday people who make a difference in a child’s life.

A young readers’ edition of The Truths We Hold was published by Philomel Books in May 2019, followed by the Spanish-language version, Las verdades que sostenemos, in January 2020.
