Jenny Moore is a children’s author who also writes psychological thrillers for adults under the name Jennifer Moore. Her work for younger readers includes comic adventures and middle-grade fantasy published by houses such as Maverick Arts Publishing and New Frontier Publishing.
Moore’s children’s titles include Agent Starling: Operation Baked Beans, Audrey Orr and the Robot Rage and Bauble, Me and the Family Tree. Audrey Orr and the Robot Rage was selected for the Reading Agency’s Summer Reading Challenge. Her fantasy novel Emba Oak and the Terrible Tomorrows launched in paperback on 28 October 2022 (ISBN 9781848868939).
Alongside books for children, Moore has published widely as a short-story writer and poet. She describes herself as a “writer of two halves”, with adult thrillers appearing under her full name with HQ (HarperCollins).
Moore was the first UK winner of the Commonwealth Short Story Competition in 2009 for “Table Talk”.
Emba Oak and the Terrible Tomorrows was shortlisted for the James Reckitt Hull Children’s Book Award (KS2) in 2024.
