Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Jacob Mitchell is a teacher and rapper who writes children’s fiction under the name MC Grammar. In 2019, he reached a wide audience after a video of him rapping the picture book The Gruffalo went viral online.
Mitchell’s middle-grade fiction series The Adventures of Rap Kid was acquired for publication by Gallery Kids (an imprint of Simon & Schuster Children’s UK). The first book in the series, The Adventures of Rap Kid, was published in 2025.
On March 3, 2026, Guinness World Records reported that MC Grammar broke the record for the largest rap lesson.
