Hannah Wood is a children’s book illustrator and author whose work spans picture books, early learning, activity and novelty titles for international publishers. Born in England, she spent much of her childhood in the Netherlands and Norway before returning to the UK for university study in politics and history. She began her career in marketing and graphic design, then moved into freelance illustration.
Wood’s portfolio includes educational and trade commissions for major imprints and book packagers, producing character-led artwork for preschool and early primary readers as well as illustrations for first dictionaries, rhyme collections and early literacy series. Alongside publishing, she has created designs for greetings and stationery.
Her credits include board and novelty formats, re-illustrated nursery rhyme anthologies, and first-word and concept books issued in multiple languages. Notable appearances in catalogues and retailer listings feature titles such as 1000 Things to Eat, Monster Hide-and-Seek, and collections of action rhymes and Bible stories for young children. As an author–illustrator she has contributed text and art to simple concept and activity books aimed at early learners.
Wood works predominantly in digital media combined with hand-drawn line, delivering accessible compositions, clear sequences and warm character expression for classroom and family reading.
