Graham Swift is an English novelist. He studied at Cambridge University and York University before beginning his career as a writer.
His early novels include The Sweet-Shop Owner (1980) and Shuttlecock (1981), which won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. He gained wider recognition with Waterland (1983), a multigenerational story set in the Fens, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Other works include Last Orders (1996), which won the Booker Prize, and Mothering Sunday (2016), later adapted into a film.
