Grace Lin biography

Grace Lin is an author and illustrator of children’s books. She received a BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1996.

Her first picture book, The Ugly Vegetables, was published by Charlesbridge in 1999.

Lin wrote and illustrated The Year of the Dog, published by Little, Brown & Co. in 2006.

She wrote and illustrated the middle grade novel Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, published by Little, Brown and Company in 2009. The book received a Newbery Honor in 2010.

Lin wrote and illustrated the picture book A Big Mooncake for Little Star, published by Little, Brown and Company on 28 August 2018. The book received a Caldecott Honor in 2019.

In 2022, Lin received the Children’s Literature Legacy Award from the American Library Association.
