Fiona Murray biography

Fiona Murray is an Irish author and editor. She co-edited the commemorative volume The Men and Women of the Anglo-Irish Treaty Delegations 1921 with Eda Sagarra, published by Laurelmount Press in 2022. The book documents the people involved in the 1921 negotiations in London and was produced by descendants of members of the Irish delegation.

Murray is a granddaughter of treaty delegation member Diarmaid Fawsitt. She graduated from University College Cork with a degree in French and English and later completed an MA (NUI) in Old and Middle English. Her professional career was in education.

Following retirement, Murray undertook postgraduate study at Jesus College, Oxford, and was awarded a Master of Studies in Historical Studies in 2021. Her editorial work on the treaty volume focuses on biography and historical context, drawing together archival research, images and profiles of delegates and staff associated with the negotiations.
