Eve Ainsworth is a British author known for her contemporary fiction for children and young adults. Her debut novel, Seven Days, was published by Scholastic in 2015. The book explores themes of bullying and was shortlisted for the 2016 Waterstones Children’s Book Prize in the Older Fiction category. Ainsworth’s subsequent novels include Crush (2016), Damage (2017), Tender (2018), Lost (2019), and Because of You (2020), all published by Scholastic. She has also written Not Our Fault (2021) and Duck Boy (2022), published by Barrington Stoke.
Ainsworth’s work often addresses challenging social issues relevant to young people. In addition to her fiction, she has contributed to educational resources and anthologies. Her books have been recognised for their realistic portrayal of contemporary issues and have been included on several recommended reading lists for schools. In 2022, Ainsworth published Finding Her Feet with Scholastic, a title inspired by the true story of Lily Parr, a pioneering women’s footballer.
Eve Ainsworth’s novels have been translated into multiple languages. She has received nominations for the Carnegie Medal and was shortlisted for the 2016 Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. Her book Seven Days was also longlisted for the 2016 Branford Boase Award.
