Ena Lamont Stewart was a Scottish playwright. She is best known for Men Should Weep (1947), a play depicting the struggles of a working-class family in Glasgow during the 1930s. The play is widely studied in Scottish schools for its social themes and use of Scots language.
Stewart wrote other plays for stage and radio, but Men Should Weep has remained her most enduring work, frequently revived in professional and amateur productions across the UK.
Men Should Weep was first performed by the Glasgow Unity Theatre in 1947.
