Elizabeth Day is a British novelist, journalist and broadcaster. She studied at Queens’ College, Cambridge, and began her career in journalism, writing for publications including The Observer and The Telegraph.
Her novels include Scissors, Paper, Stone (2011), which won a Betty Trask Award, Home Fires (2013), Paradise City (2015) and The Party (2017). In addition to fiction, Day has written non-fiction including How to Fail: Everything I’ve Ever Learned from Things Going Wrong (2019), which grew from her popular podcast How to Fail with Elizabeth Day.
Her writing has been recognised with awards for both fiction and journalism. Scissors, Paper, Stone won a Betty Trask Award in 2012.
