Ed Franck is a Belgian author known for his contributions to children’s and young adult literature. He has written numerous books, including picture books, novels, and poetry collections, primarily in Dutch. Franck’s works have been translated into several languages.
He has collaborated with various illustrators, such as Thé Tjong-Khing and Carll Cneut. Notable titles include Wie wil Wubbe weg?, De Groene IJsbeer, and Het verlangen van de prins. Franck’s writing often explores themes relevant to young readers, and his books are published by established publishers including De Eenhoorn and Querido.
Ed Franck has received multiple literary awards. He won the Boekenleeuw in 2008 for Wie wil Wubbe weg? and the Gouden Uil Jeugdliteratuurprijs in 2006 for Het verlangen van de prins. He has also been awarded the Zilveren Griffel and the Vlaamse Cultuurprijs voor Jeugdliteratuur.
In 2011, Franck was nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. His work continues to be recognised in the field of children’s and young adult literature.
