Didier Alcante is a Belgian comics writer. He began his professional career in the late 1990s. Alcante is known for his work on the series Pandora Box, published by Dupuis, which consists of eight volumes released between 2005 and 2006. Each volume of Pandora Box was illustrated by a different artist, including Didier Pagot, Vujadin Radovanovic, and Erik Juszezak.
Alcante has also written for other series such as Rani, illustrated by Francis Vallès and published by Le Lombard, and Clair-Obscur, illustrated by Fanny Montgermont. In 2012, he co-wrote La Bombe with Laurent-Frédéric Bollée, illustrated by Denis Rodier, which was published by Glénat in 2020. La Bombe received critical acclaim and was awarded the Prix Ouest-France Quai des Bulles in 2020.
Alcante’s bibliography includes collaborations with several artists and contributions to various anthologies. His works have been published by major Franco-Belgian publishers such as Dupuis, Le Lombard, and Glénat. In 2020, La Bombe was shortlisted for the Grand Prix de la Critique by the Association des Critiques et journalistes de Bande Dessinée (ACBD).
In 2020, La Bombe was awarded the Prix Ouest-France Quai des Bulles.
