Denise Brown biography

Denise Brown is a UK-based author of young adult thrillers published by Hashtag Press. Her debut YA novel, I Am Winter, was released on 11 November 2021 (paperback; ISBN 9781913835170). The novel was longlisted for The Diverse Book Awards 2022. Brown followed with It All Started With A Lie on 29 February 2024 (paperback; 300pp; ISBN 9781913835323), which was shortlisted for the Spark Book Award 2025 and for Best Crime YA at CrimeFest 2025. A revised edition of her first novel was published as We Know What You Did on 7 November 2024 (paperback; 256pp; ISBN 9781913835378).

Earlier in her writing career Brown published the novella Devil on Your Back with Salt in 2014, and her short fiction has appeared in online outlets. She was longlisted for the Bath Novel Award in 2019. Her third YA murder mystery, No One Keeps A Secret, was published by Hashtag Press on 1 August 2025 (paperback; 282pp; ISBN 9781913835392).
