David MacPhail is a Scottish author who writes for children and young readers. His work spans a range of genres, including adventure, historical fiction, and humour. MacPhail is known for creating engaging stories that often feature elements of Scottish history and folklore.
Among his published works is the Thorfinn the Nicest Viking series, which follows the adventures of a kind-hearted Viking boy. The series is illustrated by Richard Morgan and published by Floris Books. MacPhail has also written the Top-Secret Grandad and Me series, illustrated by Laura Aviñó and published by Floris Books, which centres on a young detective and his ghostly grandfather.
