David Conway is a children’s picture book author who has published with Hodder, Random House, Frances Lincoln and Gullane Children’s Books.
His first picture book, The Most Important Gift of All (illustrated by Karin Littlewood), received a nomination for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 2006.
Another of his works, Bedtime Hullabaloo! (illustrated by Charles Fuge), was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 2011, and was also shortlisted for the Coventry Inspiration Book Awards in 2012.
The Great Nursery Rhyme Disaster was selected as one of the children’s books of the year 2008 by Sunday Times critic Nicolette Jones, and was shortlisted for the 2009 Sheffield Children’s Book Award.
His title Shine Moon Shine was named among the top ten picture books of 2008 by The Bookbag.
Conway’s work has won international recognition: he received the Peter Pan Silver Star (Swedish IBBY) and the Parents’ Choice Gold Award in the United States for Lila and the Secret of Rain.
A recent milestone: The Great Nursery Rhyme Disaster (2008) was shortlisted for the 2009 Sheffield Children’s Book Award.
