Daf James is a Welsh writer, composer, and performer known for his work in theatre, television, and radio. He has written plays in both English and Welsh, and his work often explores themes of identity and culture. James studied at the University of Cambridge and later trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
His notable stage works include Lluniau, My Name is Sue, and Llwyth. Llwyth, which premiered in 2010, is a Welsh-language play that has been recognised for its exploration of contemporary Welsh gay identity. James has also written for radio, including the BBC Radio 3 drama Tonypandemonium.
In television, Daf James has contributed to several projects, including writing for the BBC series Casualty. He is also the creator and writer of the BBC drama series Lost Boys & Fairies, which was announced in 2022.
James has received recognition for his work, including a nomination for the James Tait Black Prize for Drama in 2011 for Llwyth.
