CLAMP is a Japanese manga artist collective formed in the late 1980s. The group originally consisted of twelve members, but over time, the core team became four: Satsuki Igarashi, Ageha Ohkawa, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Mokona. CLAMP is known for creating a wide range of manga series, many of which have been adapted into anime and other media.
CLAMP’s early work includes the manga RG Veda, which began serialization in 1989. The group gained further recognition with titles such as Magic Knight Rayearth and Cardcaptor Sakura. Cardcaptor Sakura was first published in 1996 and has since become one of their most well-known series. Other notable works by CLAMP include Chobits, xxxHolic, and Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle.
CLAMP’s manga often feature intricate artwork and explore a variety of genres, including fantasy, science fiction, and romance. The group is also known for its collaborative approach, with each member contributing to different aspects of the creative process, such as story development, character design, and illustration.
In 2016, CLAMP’s series Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card began serialization, continuing the story of the original Cardcaptor Sakura manga.
