Claire Fayers is a children’s author from Wales who writes fantasy stories infused with humour and myth. She was born and brought up in Newport, South Wales.
She studied English at Canterbury Christ Church University.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Fayers worked as a freelance writer for magazines over about twenty years.
Her published books include The Accidental Pirates: Voyage to Magical North (2016), Journey to Dragon Island (2017), Mirror Magic (2018), and Storm Hound.
In 2019 she was awarded a Literature Wales bursary to develop what became Storm Hound.
Storm Hound won the 2020 Tir na n-Og Award.
